The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in reporting. This role involves managing accounting staff, improving financial processes, and working closely with senior leadership to drive strategic financial decisions.

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP / IFRS.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings.
  • Assist in financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Accounting Operations
  • Manage general ledger functions and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense reporting.
  • Implement and enforce internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
  • Technology and Systems
  • Oversee and optimize the use of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure proper data integrity and security in financial systems.
  • Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Support financial planning and analysis efforts with accurate data and insights.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

  • Required education and experience

  • Strong leadership, organizational, planning, communication, and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 7-10 years in accounting / finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP / IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to resolve complex problems given limited information in a time sensitive environment
  • Able to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment which could require extended hours
  • Preferred education and experience

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance.
  • Experience with financial audits and tax compliance.
