GLOBAL PRODUCT MANAGER

Horner Automation is seeking a Product Manager for their Indianapolis location. The Product Manager is responsible for strategic product planning and tactical activities throughout the product lifecycle, including but not limited to: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the Company’s overall strategy and goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Gather market assessment / analytic information
Develop and present business cases for new products.
Manage the Product Development process.
Define, develop and communicate the product strategy and develop core positioning and messaging statements through business case and return on investment analysis.
Deliver MRDs and PRDs/TRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
Develop and implement company-wide go-to-market plans by collaborating across all functional teams
Present at tradeshows / create video presentation / facilitate roundtable discussions
Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
Be an expert with respect to the competition in PLC applications
Product Life Cycle Management, including End of Life management.
Serve as the internal and external expert for the product line(s) offered
Communicate effectively with all functional teams within the company
Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples with customers
Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
Develop sales tools and collateral
Brief and train the sales force at sales meetings
Act as a leader within the company
Perform other job duties as assigned to support the Company’s goals and objectives.

Experience/Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Product Management support role
5 years of experience / working knowledge of industrial automated control systems
Business-to-Business experience and the ability to travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America up to 50%.
Proficient in MS Office Suite – Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Must be well organized and able to track multiple projects and perform simultaneous tasks
Must demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Must possess focused time and project management skills
Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization in a fast paced environment with multiple locations (domestic and oversees)
Must be able to maintain a high sense of urgency to meet project deadlines
Must be able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
