Position Overview
Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) is seeking an intern for the Corporate Social Responsibility department. This position provides administrative support to the department by assisting with day-to-day and long-term community initiatives. The intern gains hands-on experience planning and executing major events, maintaining community/corporate partnerships and working with the charitable foundation of the Charlotte Hornets.
This is a paid internship. Interns will be paid $15.00 per hour, with the ability to work thirty (30) hours maximum per week. The 2025-2026 season program runs from September 8, 2025, through April 24, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordinating of community initiatives including but not limited to Cornucopia, NBA Season of Giving, Black History Month, Military Care, hospital visits and game day donation drives.
- Oversee the database for in-kind donation requests, community tickets and department’s autographed player memorabilia inventory.
- Help coordinate and execute player appearances and fan experiences.
- Contribute to the execution of Charlotte Hornets Foundation programs, including 2025-2026 grant initiatives, in-game activations and fundraising events such as silent auctions, raffles and merchandise sales.
- Participate in the full internship program, including workshops, speaker series, job shadowing and working on an intern project.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- A passion for working in the sports industry and community outreach is preferred.
- Male collegiate basketball players must have exhausted their NCAA eligibility before participating in the HSE internship program.
- Solution-orientated, highly motivated and self-starter who works well as both a team member and individual contributor.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to successfully multi-task.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
