Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on tax compliance, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with GAAP standards. The Accountant will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to corporate finance strategies.
Duties
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP in all accounting processes and reporting.
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports as required by governing bodies.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the team on complex transactions.
- Mentor junior accountants, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate finance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with audits as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in financial services or corporate finance is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in GAAP standards and financial analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) accounting is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
