What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Assist engineers with basic design tasks, calculations, and data collection
- Shadow experienced engineers to learn about project planning and execution
- Support drafting and documentation efforts using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (training provided)
- Help prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for project meetings
- Conduct field visits with engineers to observe construction and site development
- Organize and manage project files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
- Coordinate traffic counting for traffic studies
- Research engineering concepts and regulations to support ongoing projects
- Participate in team discussions and ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of engineering processes
- Provide general office and project support as needed while gaining exposure to different aspects of civil engineering
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree
- Interest in transportation and infrastructure projects
- Some knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a dynamic work environment
