Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour

As a Fiber Optic Field Technician, you will support the Utah team by collecting field data, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications
- Responsible for gathering data in the field with GPS units, uploading and mapping data into UDOT's fiber optic database.
- Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project
- Manage time effectively, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet project deadlines and client needs
- Designate (locate) existing Fiber Optic cables
- Accurately and efficiently collect field data
- Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met both in the office and in the field
- Read and interpret fiber optic designs plans and as built
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the company's strategic goals
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions, be willing to work evenings/weekends when required, and be willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required
- Should be able to walk long distances of several miles daily
- Able to occasionally travel out of town and work overtime
- Outdoor work in all climates
- Work with clients in a professional manner
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional schooling or training is a plus
- Solid work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a team-player attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies
- Good driving skills and a clean driving record
- Able to work in teams and get along with coworkers
- Strong computer and technical skills; Auto CAD, MicroStation, or similar application is a plus
