General Job Description
Under limited supervision of the Director of Victim Services, carries out professional and responsible administrative duties to support victims and witnesses.
Duties for this Position
- Include but are not limited to: 1. Establish initial communication with victims. 2. Provide support to victims in preparing the victim impact statement. 3. Inform victims about available financial assistance, compensations and fees; and assisting them with the application process for these benefits. 4. Coordinate and schedule meetings between the victim, Advocate, and Prosecutor. 6. Arrange travel for out-of-state victims and witnesses. 7. Provide court notifications for circuit court bond hearings, guilty pleas, and trials. 7. Escort victims to court hearings. 8. Provide victims with local counselors and resources. 9. Provide case status updates upon request.
Position Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate degree accompanied by two years of administrative experience. The applicant must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and will be subject to a background investigation prior to hiring.
