Horseman’s Stables is looking for a Farm/Barn Manager
The Farm/Barn Manager leads all functions in entire farm operations. The Farm Manager is responsible for understanding, communicating, and implementing safe and quality equestrian farm standards. This role is responsible for leading a managing team of dedicated employees and volunteers.
This individual should possess the following skills.
- Strong animal handling skills with a focus on horse care and management.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, and families.
- Effectively communicate with employees across the organization to collaborate on company goals and standards
- Train team on company standards, expectations, and regulations
- You will be responsible for hiring, training, and directing farm and property employees, ensuring clear communication and effective task management. Your role involves creating and maintaining farm and property budgets, managing inventory, and overseeing all maintenance and project activities
- Daily considers client calendar, weather, seasonal responsibilities, and daily tasks when planning and prioritizing tasks for self.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment within the facility, on the farm, and in commercial vehicles
- Responsible for building trusted and connected relationships with fellow team members, resident animals, and clients.
- Practices accountability in all organizational and programmatic policies, procedures, safety protocols & community agreements.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with clients and their families.
Requirements
- Live at the facility in our 1 bedroom/1 Bath apartment on site
- Previous farm experience or ability to learn farm operations
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve goals
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to seek, identify and investigate deficiencies and provide continuous process improvement
- Critical thinker with discretionary decision-making ability to act in best interest of the horses and facility
- Effective communicator
- This position will work, in person, with hours that range from standard business hours to evening and/or weekend hours
- Must have 5 years equestrian experience
- Must have pasture management experience
- Great attitude and willing to learn.
Salary/Benefits
· $35,000.00 1 bedroom/1Bathroom facility included.
