Operations Manager
The Horsham Water & Sewer Authority is accepting applications for the position of Operations Manager.
Job Description :
Provide leadership and perform necessary functions related to managing a water & wastewater system including, but not limited to budgetary, operational, staff and compliance issues. Work in a collaborative / team environment aimed at continuous improvements while constantly meeting or exceeding regulatory & customer requirements. Performs in a public service capacity and in a manner that is consistent with the overall mission, vision and values of the Authority. Maintains an exceptional level of ethical behavior and honesty. Directly manages two supervisors and indirectly manages eleven employees. Participate in, develop, and support a united management team.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or environmental science, chemistry, biology, business or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess (or attain in limited time frame) water & wastewater operator certificate commensurate with HWSA water & wastewater systems ratings and treatment processes as required by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Currently - Water : B, E – 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12. Wastewater : B, E – 4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in water & wastewater treatments, processes, collections, distribution, and laboratory. Minimum five years of supervisory and management experience. This job classification and description requires working in a 7 day a week operation and being on call for emergencies. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours to attend public meetings and / or to represent Authority at community events. Willingness to comply with all aspects of the Pennsylvania Public Official and Employee Ethics Act. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. CPR & First Aid certified after 6 months of employment. Willing to submit to a criminal background check.
Compensation / Benefits :
Annual Salary range starting will be commensurate with experience comprehensive, robust benefits package.
