What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN position at HORST ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CO?
The Assembler is responsible for assembling, marking, labeling, and packaging small parts.
Major Areas of Responsibility :
- Working from blueprints, operation sheets, travelers, or other specifications, completes finishing and deburring operations to produce quality parts.
- Checks the product to meet all blueprint or operations specifications.
- Performs minor set-ups on deburring equipment to perform necessary tasks. Obtains all necessary tooling, gages, and materials.
- Assembling of product to be consistent to the blueprint operations sheet specifications. May include pressing, glueing, painting, or baking various aerospace items for Assembly.
- Function may also include part marking, cleaning, deburring, tumbling, or other various operations.
- Measuring tools include micrometers, Vernier, Optical Comparer, dial bores, pin gages.
- Performs visual inspections (part relationship to operation sheet / blueprint configuration) on all parts produced and performs actual dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the department or the Quality Assurance Department.
- Replaces all worn or damaged tooling as necessary.
- Verifies and records the actual part count, both prior to and upon completion of all work.
- Develop and document assembly procedures, train assemblers in operations and processes.
- Keeps the equipment and work area clean and organized.
- Notifies lead person or supervisor of any parts shortages or machining problems / difficulties.
- Packs and washes / preserves parts as needed.
- Performs other machining and assembly operations as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required, such as labeling and packaging small parts.
- Interacts with associates from all departments.
