Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Component Parts Specialist to join our team at HORST ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CO.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating deburring equipment to produce highly precision component parts that meet all quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Working from blueprints, operation sheets, travelers, or other specifications, complete finishing and deburring operations to produce quality parts.
- Check the product to meet all blueprint or operations specifications.
- Perform minor set-ups on deburring equipment to perform necessary tasks. Obtain all necessary tooling, gages, and materials.
- Deburring, polishing, tumbling, and rounding edges of product to be consistent to the blueprint operations sheet specifications.
- Function may also include part marking, cleaning, or other various operations.
- Measuring tools include micrometers, Vernier, Optical Comparer, dial bores, pin gages.
- Perform visual inspections (part relationship to operation sheet/blueprint configuration) on all parts produced and performs actual dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the department or the Quality Assurance Department.
- Replace all worn or damaged tooling as necessary.
- Verify and record actual part count, both prior to and upon completion of all work.
- Tumbling includes media selection and process development to ensure Quality product.
- Responsible for blending corner radius and surfaces.
- Use of microscopes for deburring operations.
- Hand deburring of small parts, use of pencil grinders, bench grinders, drill presses and Carbide deburring tooling.
- Keep the equipment and work area clean and organized.
- Notify lead person or supervisor of any parts shortages or machining problems/difficulties.
- Pack and wash/preserve parts as needed.
- Perform other machining and assembly operations as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Interact with associates from all departments.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand operation sheets/blueprints, specifications, and all applicable company/customer paperwork.
- Quality minded with the willingness and ability to cross train in other areas to provide support for cells.
- One year plus experience in a machine shop or deburring environment
