PPOSITION SUMMARY
The Area Leader leads their team and supports the day-to-day operations of the Department. The Area Leader role coordinates all activities within their department to ensure efficient use of labor and equipment. Area Leaders ensures compliance with work instructions and quality requirements. Area Leaders addresses all of the inefficiencies within the Department. Area Leaders provide 1st level escalation, problem solving, and enabling the operator to achieve optimum performance.
1st Shift: 7:00AM - 5:30PM, Monday - ThursdayÂ
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures Department adheres to all Safety requirements and guidelines
Maintain Hose Master Standards for Housekeeping/5S.
Ensure all Quality check requirements are met throughout the shift.Â
Ensure completion of Preventative Maintenance within the department
Own progress of orders through Department to ensure delivery dates are met
Maintain a floor presence and be a resource to the operators that are running machines
Ensure employees are properly trained when assigning jobs/tasks
Coordinate work in the area to meet daily goals.
Conduct Shift Start Up meetings as needed
Identify any un-staffed equipment and work with supervisor to develop a plan to utilize the equipment if needed.Â
Coordinate any changes to shop floor schedule with planning
Perform any functions in the area on an “as needed†basis.
Support Company’s Emergency Response Commitment.
Engaged in Lean Daily Management practices and the smooth transition across shifts.
Support and actively engaged in Department escalation processÂ
Ensure that employees have adequate resources to carry out functions.
Review area procedures for accuracy and sufficiency.Â
Ensure working condition of calibrated instruments and other tools and equipment within the Area
Adhere to Purchasing Limits
Opening and closing of Bldg. /Area. Â
Utilize Hourly Cell Boards to track performance, identify downtime & drive continuous improvement initiatives
Assist operators/setup associate with any work center in set up. Sign in first piece inspection for work centers that have completed setup
Assist with necessary inspection requirements after any process interruptions to release the machine back into production.
Assist with data entry requirements
Document NCs as they occur
Assist with the sorting/reworking of NC’d parts. Maintain a presence to help ensure that there are no part mixes if NC is being sorted at the machine.
Conduct inspections when needed
Participates in the planning and execution of Employee Development Plan
Assist with the implementation of Work Instructions by conducting training when requiredÂ
Communicate ideas to improve daily operation of the department
Perform checks to ensure that Work Instructions are being followed.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read, write and understand English.Â
Proficient in basic math.Â
Prior experience leading a team or supervising in a factory setting.Â
Ability to multitask.
Ability to perform duties in a dynamic environment
