Job Summary:
The Supervisor of the Shipping Department is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shipping team, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely dispatch of all products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of service while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The Supervisor will manage a team of shipping clerks and work closely with other departments to optimize the shipping process and meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the shipping department, ensuring all orders are processed and shipped accurately and on time.
Lead, motivate, and mentor shipping team members to maintain a high level of performance, productivity, and morale.
Oversee the packing, labeling, and documentation processes for outgoing shipments, ensuring all orders meet quality control standards.
Monitor inventory levels of shipping supplies and materials, ordering new stock as needed to prevent disruptions in shipping operations.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including safety standards, customs documentation, and international shipping requirements (if applicable).
Collaborate with the Director of Operations and other departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service, purchasing) to align shipping strategies with organizational objectives.
Develop and maintain shipping schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
Analyze shipping data and metrics, providing regular reports and identifying areas for process improvement or cost reduction.
Resolve customer shipping issues or discrepancies, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Assist in the hiring, training, and performance management of shipping department personnel.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
