SUMMARY
Supervises activities to facilitate the most efficient and economical use of space for storing and distributing raw material. Coordinates the receiving, storing, and moving raw materials and finished goods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates day-to-day activities to ensure that goods are moved, handled, and stored safely, correctly, and in accordance with established schedules and inventory lists.
- Interprets stock orders, requests, and shipping/receiving tickets, and schedules the movement of materials accordingly.
- Enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieves stored information; or responds to inquiries on inventory levels or delivery schedules.
- Ensures there is sufficient inventory to meet the organization's production assembly needs. Works with purchasing to ensure the appropriate parts and materials are received in a timely manner. Escalates missing and/or wrong materials to purchasing and production control for potential adjustments to the production schedule.
- Prioritizes and assigns tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively, and that work schedules and targets are met.
- Reviews data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts to estimate future materials requirements.
- Continuously monitors the use of equipment (forklifts, pallets jacks, and conveyors) to ensure that safety standards are upheld.
- Trains new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.
- Prepares documentation and maintains files/records as required. May operate material handling equipment, as necessary.
- Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct report employees which may include:
- Material Handler
- Warehouse Coordinator
- Cycle Counter
- Tasks include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law.
