Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform computed tomography (CT) scans on patients to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, attention to detail, and a dedication to providing excellent patient care. You will be responsible for operating CT equipment, preparing patients for scans, and ensuring a high level of image quality for accurate diagnostics.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Perform CT scans of various body parts as ordered by the physician, ensuring accuracy and quality of images.

Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.

Maintain a clean and safe environment in the imaging suite, ensuring equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized as needed.

Administer contrast media to patients as per protocols and under the supervision of a physician.

Review patient information and medical history to confirm correct procedures and ensure patient safety.

Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Ensure that images are of high quality and suitable for diagnostic purposes.

Monitor patients throughout the procedure, ensuring their comfort and addressing any distress or concerns.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.

Stay current with advances in CT technology and techniques.

Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

All other duties as assigned.

Education / Certifications / Licenses

Required

Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).

Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and CT (CT) or eligibility to obtain within a specified time frame.

State licensure as required by local regulations.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional certifications or training in CT imaging, such as through a recognized professional organization, may be preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least 1 year of specialized experience in CT imaging.

Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, particularly in a diagnostic imaging department.

Required Skills / Abilities

Strong knowledge of CT equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.

Excellent understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.

Ability to operate complex imaging equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.

Exceptional patient care skills, including the ability to explain procedures and ease patient anxiety.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess image quality for diagnostic purposes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare team members, and physicians.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and patient safety.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

Physical, Mental Demands / Working Environment

Physical Requirements : Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and / or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and / or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldom to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours).
