Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a thorough understanding of MRI technology, and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. You will operate MRI equipment, prepare patients for scans, and ensure that high-quality images are produced for accurate diagnostics.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Perform MRI scans of the brain, spine, joints, and other body parts as prescribed by physicians, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of each exam.
Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Administer contrast agents to patients as needed, following established protocols and physician instructions.
Review and evaluate MRI images for quality, ensuring that they meet diagnostic standards before sending them to the physician.
Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Operate MRI equipment, including setting up the equipment, monitoring the MRI process, and ensuring safety throughout the procedure.
Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to review images and discuss findings.
Maintain a clean and safe MRI suite, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Monitor patients during the procedure, adjusting positions and ensuring their comfort throughout the scan.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in MRI technology and maintain current knowledge of industry best practices.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including screening for patients with implants or devices that may interfere with MRI scans.
All other duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
Required
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe.
State licensure as required by local regulations.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional certifications or specialized training in MRI imaging may be preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least 1 year of specialized experience in CT imaging.
Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, particularly in a diagnostic imaging department.
Required Skills/Abilities
In-depth knowledge of MRI equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
Strong understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology, particularly in relation to MRI procedures.
Ability to operate MRI machines and troubleshoot technical issues.
High attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images.
Excellent communication skills for explaining MRI procedures to patients and coordinating with healthcare teams.
Strong patient care skills, including empathy and the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including positioning patients and operating heavy equipment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
