Compliance Analyst Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the VP Compliance & Quality Organization Excellence, the Compliance Analyst plans, coordinates, and assist with execution of Company's Compliance Program to promote and foster the company wide delivery of quality patient care and customer experience in a safe, ethical, and regulatory compliant manner. This position will monitor reported compliance issues, assist with monitoring and coordinating payor audits, manage compliance projects, analyze compliance data, and manage our excluded provider's process.
Compliance Analyst Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages organization's designated compliance call line and email to receive, analyze, and direct issues for appropriate assignment and timely response.
- Maintains a working knowledge base of all current federal, state, and other survey and accreditation standards, as well as regulated compliance and quality monitoring measures with a heightened focus on conditions of participation elements that are applicable to hospice, palliative care, and other lines of Company patient care business lines.
- Monitors external sites for related compliance purposes, including but not limited to the Medicare Administrator (MAC).
- Supports and manages internal and external compliance audits in highly detailed, organized manner. Ensures review, analysis, and timely submission of all requested materials.
- Maintains electronic storage of compliance and related audit materials.
- Assists with the development and updates of compliance documents and policies, including the Code of Conduct.
- Assists with developing, tracking, completing, trending, analysis, and reporting of the Company's Annual Compliance Plan and Risk Assessments.
- Assists with the investigation/documentation of any potential HIPAA/PHI breach.
- Promotes orientation of new employees on organization's Compliance Program and expectations, including creation of needed presentations.
- Develops compliance presentations and reports, as needed or requested.
- Coordinates and manages exclusion lists for employees, volunteers, board members, and vendors. Identifies and ensures proper exclusion for excluded members.
- Monitors compliance reports including the annual PEPPER report and identifies areas for the development of related organizational education or materials.
- Responds to requests for information in a timely, helpful, and professional manner.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Compliance Analyst Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma required. Some college preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, CHC-Certified Healthcare Compliance preferred.
- Strong organizational, data management, critical thinking, and analytic skills.
- Strong ability to monitor and timely meet external and internal deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge in understanding and applying the differences between legal, compliance, quality and risk disciplines and functions.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and other organizational software systems.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of organizational objectives.
- Service excellence oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethics and ethical mindset, so as to promote and support an environment of quality patient care and customer experience that is delivered in a safe, regulatory compliant manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to hold the highest regard for confidential information learned and used in role, as applicable.
