What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position at HOSPICE CARE TEAM?
Hospice Care Team is now hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at our growing office! The ADON will have the responsibility of delivering comprehensive patient care to all assigned patients, managing the Nursing Service Department in the absence of the DON, following all infection control procedures, participating in staff mentoring activities, and performing bereavement calls when appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains the day to day functioning of the Agency in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Assesses the changes in patients’ conditions, documents the changes and reports them in a timely manner to the appropriate health care professionals including, but not limited to, the physician, nurses and social services team.
- Coordinates, observes, and evaluates comprehensive patient care provided by nursing.
- Oversees the maintenance of patient clinical records, statistics, reports, and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities.
- Assists in ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and, maintains compliance to the Joint Commission Home Care standards.
- Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and hospice care; shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas.
- Previous Hospice and/or Home Health experience
- Current driver’s license and auto insurance
- Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements
