Description
JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, families and remember you are a representative of this organization.
- Exude compassion and competence on the phone with patients and families and e3nsure issues are resolved and families are updated before leaving for the day.
- Receives orders and prepares all necessary documents to ensure timely delivery/set-up, pick-up, and service of equipment.
- Creates and maintains patient records in electronic medical record system.
- Review, prepare and maintain all documentation to be included as part of the customer file.
- Receive and distribute all incoming mail.
- Contact physicians and Hospice staff, when necessary, to clarify orders received with respect to prescribed home medical equipment and supplies.
- Maintain current records on all patients who have equipment and in which geographic area.
- Must monitor address changes on patients and update twice daily.
- Proficient with running reports out of system for administrative review.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent; College preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one-year prior office experience required
- Prior knowledge of the medical field with experience in DME or home health care preferred
- Capable of safely lifting 25 lbs
- Prior experience in processing health insurance claims strongly preferred
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Prior experience, knowledge, and skilled with computers and EMR applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a current, valid Driver’s License.
- Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and techniques with facilities, patients, families, office staff, and physicians.
- Be capable of sound and mature judgement.
- Possess excellent telephone skills and an ability to interact with patients, customers, and medical professionals.
