JOB SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for the successful management and administration of the Volunteer Department, in conjunction with best industry standards and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position has responsibility for the recruiting, training, and supervision of all volunteers and department staff. The Volunteer Services Manager will work in collaboration with the clinical, marketing, philanthropy and leadership teams to assure that the department aligns with the strategic plan of the organization and serves as a critical bridge for education and advocacy between the community and employees. This position supervises the volunteer coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree with skills in organization, communication and administration preferred.
- Experience in health care, not for profit entities or education preferred.
- Skills in interviewing techniques and ability to assess others strengths and weaknesses.
- Experience working with volunteers inclusive of supervisory skills, flexibility, and ability to provide informal counseling.
- Experience dealing with terminal illnesses preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills exhibiting the ability to work and interact with professionals and non‑professionals.
- Understanding of the Hospice program and goals.
