The Hospice House Manager is responsible for the operations and programs of the Hospice House ensuring quality patient & family care. The Manager directs, coordinates and supervises all clinical and team staff . This position serves The Village Hospice House.
SCHEDULE - 8am - 4:30 pm; Rotating Weekends, Some Holidays; Rotating On-Call and Hurricane Designation Team

JOB DUTIES/KNOWLEDGE
Ø Supervises all clinical activities and staff. Communicates, as appropriate, with staff physicians, referral sources and clients.
Ø Assures adequate supply of qualified staff. Assists with recruiting, hiring and orienting of all team staff.
Ø Directs all Hospice House Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
Ø Coordinates and manages the team’s daily workload. Ensures appropriate assignments of referrals for all services.
Ø Ensures that the documentation required for reimbursement of care is completed on a timely basis and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ø Performs duties necessary to maintain quality team standards.
Ø Counsels staff appropriately and in a timely fashion concerning areas of deficiency as well as areas of excellence.
Ø Conducts employee performance evaluations. Assists with development of new job standards as needed. Reviews and updates current job standards annually.
Ø Consistently facilitates positive interpersonal relations among staff.
Ø Participates in the development of the team budget. Monitors the team budget and justifies variances.
Ø Keeps abreast of Hospice and management issues.
Ø Assures service satisfaction through patient/family visits and other measures, as appropriate. Investigates and resolves all team complaints.
Ø Submits written reports outlining team activities within specified time frames as requested by supervisor and for the Strategic Plan.
Ø Assists the Executive Manager Hospice Houses with special projects and other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
1. Florida RN license required; Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in nursing, or CHPN preferred.
2. Three years of nursing experience required; two years of nursing supervisory experience required; two years of hospice experience or one y
year of long-term care experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
5. Ability to work flexible hours.
6. Valid Florida driver’s license and required auto liability insurance.
