Description
Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a full-time Business Relations Representative in the Charlottesville/Eastern Virginia area to develop business partnerships generating growth by making effective sales contacts, calls and presentations. The Business Relations Representative will increase awareness of our services and provide organizational customer support through outreach to facilities, physician offices, discharge planners, community agencies and other medical organizations by serving as the liaison.
Duties (including but not limited to):
• Responsible for the overall development and referral growth of assigned territory, including facilities, physicians, home care providers, and community agencies.
• Develop and execute an extensive outreach plan to establish and/or maintain strong relationships with facilities, physician offices and other medical organizations in need of hospice services with the primary goals of increasing overall admissions to Hospice of the Piedmont and delivering hospice services which result in a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Develop business relationships with providers by making effective sales calls and presentations to targeted referral sources.
• Maintain professional and clinical knowledge of provider services. Acts as liaison between referral partners and agency to communicate information about new products, programs, and service delivery.
• Meet with patients and families to discuss home health and/or hospice and palliative care services, individual needs/concerns and manage expectations; obtains signed consent documents.
• Effectively communicate the differentiating features of Hospice of the Piedmont and why we should be the hospice provider of choice, and help ensure we provide those services effectively.
• Update and maintains customer and competitor profiles, logs daily call activity, and documents plans for follow up activities with referral sources.
• Participate in marketing efforts for the purpose of educating the healthcare community about hospice programs, including physician calls, lunch and learns, health fairs, speaker’s bureau, and CEU programs for healthcare providers.
• Prepare monthly tracking reports on referral sources and keeps agency informed of key marketplace changes related to providers and competitors.
• Identify new service opportunities that will help further differentiate Hospice of the Piedmont from other hospice organizations, and help make the organizational case to pursue these new initiatives.
• Work in coordination with facility Case Managers and other members of the Admissions Team to help provide quality care and services to facility residents and staff.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or sales or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, preferred.
- Experience in hospice or home health sales or a related industry with a proven record of achieving incremental growth in direct sales is preferred. Previous experience as a community liaison or experience in a hospital setting or experience in medical sales is preferred
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Excellent leadership and organizational management skills.
- Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills to include excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to work with others at various levels.
- Work independently, proactively, and with strong problem-solving skills.
- Quickly, thoroughly and creatively address the questions and concerns of medical organizations with whom we do business.
- Take the lead role in developing, implementing and executing the program.
