Description
Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a Financial Analyst and Budget Manager to serve our community with world-class hospice care by providing excellent accounting services in the finance department to provide accurate accounting records for reporting and analysis. This role will assist the CFO in analyzing various financial areas and managing the budget throughout the year.
Responsibilities/General Duties (Including but not limited to):
- Responsible for analyzing various accounting areas.
- Provides financial reports to CFO and/or management.
- Assists with developing monthly financial statements and reports.
- Prepares monthly departmental budget reports.
- Assists with effective budgeting meetings and coordination.
- Tracks and reports changes in staffing compared to budget and analyzes the effects of changes.
- Prepares and reports on benchmarking analysis.
- Assists with analysis of set up of EMR, HR and other software as they relate to accounting functions and reporting.
- Communicates with vendors and/or outside suppliers, as needed.
- Provides analysis of various accounting accounts.
- Prepares and reports on analytical projects as directed.
- Provide effective communication and translation of numbers into informational reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investment accounts as directed.
- Analyzes financial accounts to ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records monthly.
- Analyze and maintain fixed assets to determine proper accounting and recording.
- Prepare reporting for clinical team, as needed for effective decision making.
- Assists with the annual financial and 403b audits as needed.
- Assists with the preparation and gathering of information for the 990 tax return, the Medicare Cost report and any other tax or compliance reporting needed.
- Assist with accounts payable, payroll and billing departments as needed.
Qualifications:
· BS/BA Degree in Accounting, required
· Certified Public Accountant, required
· Five or more years relevant experience, preferably in non-profit hospice
· Strong knowledge of GAAP
· Experience in analyzing financial information and providing reports to management
· Experience in budget preparation and management
· Experience in the healthcare industry, required
