Description
Are you passionate about providing compassionate care to individuals in need? Do you have a special calling to support patients and families during their end-of-life journey? We seek a dedicated and skilled PRN Hospice Aide to provide personal care services to Hospice House patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care, ambulation, positioning, and transferring as needed.
- Perform tasks taught by healthcare professionals, such as assisting with colostomy bag changes, shampooing, dressing reinforcement, and range of motion exercises.
- Observe and report significant changes in patient appearance or behavior to the nurse.
- Document care and observations in the patient record.
- Help prepare meals for hospice patients when necessary.
- Provide housekeeping assistance to maintain a clean environment.
- Support the manager in ensuring health, fire, and safety compliance.
- Follow universal precautions for infection control at all times.
- Foster positive working relationships with team members and staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Complete other tasks and assignments as requested.
Requirements
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push up to 200 pounds in a wheelchair
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and required to walk, stand, sit and climb or balance.
