Responsible for the overall functioning of the facility and for the direct supervision of staff on a specific shift. This position is Monday-Friday, day shift, with On-Call requirements and would be supporting David Simpson Hospice House
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assist in maintaining continuity of care between all shifts.
- Assist the Team in the identification and resolution of problems and concerns in patient/family care.
- Provided clinical guidance and consultation to nursing, social work and counseling disciplines.
- Assist in the coordination of volunteers in caring for patients.
- Assist in the development, planning and presentation of education/in service programs for the Team.
- Oversee staffing needs on a daily basis as it relates to census and staff availability.
- Oversee staff assignment on a daily basis.
- Responsible for the evaluation of staff.
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings.
- Review and sign time sheets for staff.
- Monitor time and attendance for staff.
- Conduct chart reviews.
- Participate in the disciplinary process for staff.
- Assist with patient care as appropriate.
- Assist with interviewing and selection process.
SUCCESS CAPABILITIES:
- Licensed RN in the State of Ohio
- BS or equivalent experience
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
- Ability to exercise directions and good judgment in applying and interpreting agency policies and procedures.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to execute dynamic presentations.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to have and maintain a valid driver's license, good driving record and auto accident insurance at a level acceptable to HWR and/or HWR’s insurer.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
