- Operational Leadership:
- Partner with the Medical Director to align clinical goals with hospital operations, ensuring a high standard of patient care and service excellence.
- Oversee the hospital's day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
- Alongside the Medical Director, implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain high standards in patient care, safety, and staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing veterinary practice and healthcare.
- Team Management & Development:
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of veterinary surgeons, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of all support staff, ensuring comprehensive training programs, regular performance evaluations, and strategies for fostering long-term employee engagement and retention.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the hospital’s budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and financial stability.
- Analyze financial reports, control expenditures, and implement strategies to meet financial goals.
- Partner with the Medical Director to identify opportunities for growth and expansion, including new service offerings and partnerships.
- Patient Care & Client Services:
- Ensure the highest quality of surgical care is delivered in collaboration with the Medical Director, focusing on patient outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Maintain and improve client services, including communication, follow-up care, and overall customer experience.
- Address escalated client concerns and work to maintain strong, positive relationships with pet owners.
- Cultivate and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with referring veterinarians and partner hospitals, ensuring open communication, trust, and mutual support to enhance patient care and referral experiences.
- Strategic Planning & Growth:
- Partner with the Medical Director to develop and execute long-term business and clinical strategies to support the hospital’s growth and sustainability.
- Stay abreast of advancements in veterinary surgery and healthcare technology, integrating best practices into hospital operations.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including referring veterinarians, vendors, and the veterinary community, to promote the hospital's reputation and services.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent required; advanced degree or certification in hospital administration, business management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a veterinary hospital leadership role, with a strong understanding of veterinary surgery.
- Proven experience in financial management, team leadership, and operational oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong business acumen, able to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and drive hospital growth.
