Job Purpose :
This is a “sales hunter” role that will be building sales pipeline to drive new customer growth. As a Business Development Rep, you will be looking to identify shippers to trust our organization with their freight. We provide full operational and accounting support to put you in a position to continually (A) cultivate your sales pipeline for new customers (B) drive account strategy with the operations support roles for existing customers.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the organizational leadership to develop and implement growth-based sales strategies that achieve revenue and profit targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Use independent judgement and discretion to determine which shippers have freight transport opportunities, which lanes to quote, which loads to accept and do so in a way that achieves revenue and profit targets.
- Effectively identify decision-makers and establish / maintain relationships with shippers that contribute to reaching revenue and profit targets.
- Collaborate internally with operations teams to strategize and respond to RFP / RFQ’s.
- Collaborate with operations team members to provide excellent customer service and prompt issue resolution.
- Use company provided CRM to manage the entire all stages of the sales pipeline and the associated leading indicator metrics that result in hitting revenue and profit targets.
- Travel to customer and / or prospective client sites (as needed) to facilitate profitable and sustainable relationships within the business.
