Digital Marketing Assistant Position
Are you looking to gain valuable marketing skills with a local small business in a fun environment selling outdoor sporting goods, including bicycles, recumbents, apparel, parts and accessories? Hostel Shoppe is also known nationally a recumbent bike and trike specialty shop, assisting customers both in store and online, working with customers with disabilities in adaptive cycling and selling product online nationwide. Hostel Shoppe is looking for a Marketing Assistant to help with various marketing duties, including, but not limited to, the following:
· Assist the marketing team in daily administrative tasks maintaining the store website, including updating webpages, updating pictures, adding SEO and meta text, updating ADA requirements, and adding and updating product on the website, building landing pages and more.
· Assist the marketing manager in developing and implementing marketing promotions and content on our website, social media, by email and on YouTube.
· Assist the marketing manager in planning and implementing store events, including writing press releases, organizing events details, contacting vendors.
· Learn about our product to effectively market it.
· Assist with answering telephone calls.
Marketing Assistant Skills and Qualifications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are important in the Marketing Assistant role. You regularly need to collaborate with team members, vendors, and other company employees to understand the needs of the marketing department.
· Good organizational skills and attention to detail are essential to organize details and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.
· Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Adobe Cloud (including Photoshop, Premier Pro, InDesign and Illustrator).
· Photography and video skills a plus.
· Interest and knowledge in cycling a plus.
Position Details
· 40 hours per week full-time position, with flexible scheduling. Some Saturdays and weekends are required for special events.
