Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Quality Assurance Technician will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract concrete variables.
Physical Demands
Wear required safety equipment when on the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand and/or walk. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
The employee is required to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employee is expected to wear the required personal protective equipment when on the production floor.

- Creates and issues return material authorizations to customers as needed.
- Creates and issues DMR’s to vendors as needed.
- Creates quality documentation for the production floor. This includes ballooning drawings and creating the required inspection documentation for production.
- Completes and submits ISIR documentation as required.
- Creates and updates packing instructions as required.
- Creates credit memos for customers that return material.
- Assists and fills in for floor quality technicians as needed. This includes performing first piece and in process inspections as well as tensile testing as needed.
- Performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments.
