What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tumbling Instructor position at Hot Springs Gymnastics?

We are hiring for a Tumbling Coach with experience coaching some kind of sport, preferably tumbling. This person must have a love for Coaching and a Passion for Tumbling.
What is Tumbling?
Tumbling focuses solely on the floor skills taught in gymnastics. These skills include Roundoffs, Cartwheels, Back Handsprings, Bridge Kickovers, etc. Our classes not only focus on tumbling skills, but life skills taught through our program! We have a focus word of the month, and incorporate power chat to motivate our students in a fun way! Ages of kids being coached in this program is 6 and up!
What does the job intel?
Coaches are expected to arrive 15 minutes before their first class, allowing time on the clock to prepare for their classes for the day by watching the lesson plans, setting up their equipment, and writing down their timing schedule for the day.
Coaches typically coach 3-5 classes during a shift. During class, our lesson plans and learning objectives are implemented. Coaches are expected to track attendance and skill achievement for each class on tablets provided.
At the end of the shift, coaches are expected to put away equipment used for the day, and complete the closing duty they are assigned for the day, in accordance with our schedule.
Coaches are expected to provide power chats (a narrative to follow is provided) in class and insight motivation for their athletes, during class time, while making it fun for them.
Coaches are expected to speak to parents before and after classes about their child’s progress in the class.
Coaches are expecting to sign up for two weekend days per month to work birthday parties. These are super fun, and we give a bonus for each party worked!
What are the hours?
This position is listed as part time, but has the potential to grow into more for the right candidate who shows real initiative and willingness to work hard and learn!
We are really good about working around peoples availability, as long as it is consistent.
Our hours of operation for classes are Monday-Friday from 3:30 to 8:00. Saturday morning we are open from 9-12. We are not looking for someone to work all of these shifts, however there is always potential for growth for the right candidate. There is also potential to get extra hours working Birthday Parties and Parent’s Night Out.
How much is the pay?
This is dependent upon experience and is negotiable.

Duties
- Deliver engaging lessons in sports, martial arts, or physical education to students of varying skill levels.
- Create lesson plans that accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Supervise students during activities to ensure safety and proper technique.
- Provide feedback and support to help students improve their skills.
- Organize and lead group activities, including team sports such as basketball.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on best practices in health and fitness, as well as any relevant certifications.
Requirements
- Previous experience in teaching or coaching sports, martial arts, or physical education is preferred.
- Skills in climbing, swimming, or lifeguarding are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of childcare practices and the ability to work with children effectively.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
- A passion for promoting health and fitness within the community.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
