Bus Driver
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance & Transportation JOB STATUS: Part Time
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: N/A REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance & Transportation
GRADE/LEVEL: K-12 AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: See Essential Duties
WORK SCHEDULE: As Assigned
POSITION SUMMARY
Working under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance & Transportation, the district Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students of all grade levels to and from schools, field trips, athletic activities and other special trips or activities in a safe and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be familiar with policies of the School Board concerning transportation
- To be cognizant of state and local traffic laws
- To participate in all meetings, conferences and training courses which will improve pupil transportation
- To be responsible for the proper care and inspection of the bus in addition to following safe operating practices
- To maintain Arkansas driver’s license with P & S endorsements
- To meet Federal/State/School District policies on drug testing
- To perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by employee’s supervisor, the principal, or the superintendent

Education
Minimum of high school diploma or GED with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.
Experience
One year of successful experience working with children. Other requirements per job description.
CertifIcates & Licenses
Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements and meet all DOE Requirements including attendance of 6 hours of in-service annually.
