The Hot Springs South Dakota Chamber of Commerce Executive Director will lead and manage the daily operations of the Chamber, working closely with the Board of Directors, local businesses, and community leaders to promote economic growth and community development. This position requires a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and purpose-driven leader with a strong vision for the Chamber’s role in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the Chamber’s goals.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Chamber.
- Foster relationships with local businesses, agriculture community, government officials, and community organizations.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the Chamber’s financial activities, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
- Ensure the financial stability of the Chamber through effective financial planning and management.
Membership Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain members.
- Plan and execute member events, programs, and initiatives.
Advocacy and Public Policy:
- Advocate on behalf of Chamber members on local and state levels.
- Stay informed on relevant public policy issues and communicate their impact to members.
Operational Oversight:
- Manage the Chamber’s staff and volunteers.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber office.
Community Engagement:
- Promote the Chamber’s role in the community through active engagement and visibility.
- Lead community development projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent & relevant work experience.
- Must live in Fall River County or be willing to relocate.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven track record in financial management and fundraising.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community members.
