Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a vital member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through the maintenance of our premises.
Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment and systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues related to building systems, equipment, and appliances promptly to minimize downtime and ensure guest comfort.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies such as leaks, power outages, and equipment failures, and take appropriate corrective actions to resolve issues efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Take proactive measures to address any safety concerns and maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inventory, and inspection reports. Update maintenance logs and documentation as required to track maintenance history and facilitate future repairs.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the maintenance team and collaborate with department heads to prioritize tasks, share information, and ensure seamless communication across departments.
- Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner when performing maintenance tasks in guest rooms or public areas. Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and escalate issues as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Some skills in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance techniques.
- Experience: Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field, with a proven track record of performing maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality throughout the hotel premises.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, coworkers, and vendors.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to accommodate maintenance emergencies and operational requirements.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks for extended periods in various environmental conditions.
