Hotel California By The Sea is a leading provider of behavioral health treatment and services to individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders in southern California (Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa).
We are seeking vibrant, motivated, and dedicated professionals to serve as a Group Facilitator - SUD Counselor (CA), who will be providing Group Substance Use Disorder Counseling services to persons with substance use disorders.
Ideal candidates should be proficient and experienced in leading Group SUD Counseling sessions on various evidence-based topics, such as Substance Use Disorder Counseling, Relapse Prevention, Coping/Recovery Skills, and Addiction Education.
Group Facilitator - SUD Counselor (CA) must be licensed/certified as one of the following in the State of California and possess a valid business license:
- LAADC
- CADC-III, CADC-II
- SUDCC III, SUDCC II, SUDCC
- CATC V, CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a high level of communication with the Clinical Team regarding client behavior, progress, and any further observation essential to the clients' treatment
- Documentation of group notes in KIPU on day of service
- Maintain group curriculum and update material regularly
- Have a keen awareness of various 12-step groups and knowledge of the 12 step-recovery
- Must have knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding and motivation to clients
- Knowledge and sufficient understanding of HIPAA laws, rules, and regulations (specifically includes, but is not limited to, the privacy, security, and confidentiality of clients protected health information)
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Licensed as one of the following: LAADC, CADC-III, CADC-II, SUDCC III, SUDCC II, SUCDD, CATC V, CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II
- Experience providing group counseling via group facilitation
- Strong commitment to serving clients struggling with chemical dependency
- Understanding of the disease model of addiction
- Must have a business license if required by your city
- Must have liability insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a dual-diagnosis model of treatment
- Experience in the behavioral healthcare field
- Demonstrated skills in crisis management
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
