Duties
- Manage all pastry operations, ensuring high-quality preparation and presentation of desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
- Maintain food cost and labor cost within approved guidelines.
- Monitor proper storage and handling of all bakery items in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of baked goods to all designated outlets.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pastry area and other kitchen stations.
- Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate them into menu innovation.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of pastry and baking techniques
- Familiarity with culinary tools including knives and mixers
- Ability to handle food safely and follow sanitation guidelines
- Experience in catering or large-scale food production is a plus
Qualifications:
- Expertise in a wide variety of baking and pastry techniques.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- An associate’s degree or equivalent education and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant.
- Experience working with various decorative media such as sugar and chocolate.
- Strong knowledge of food cost control strategies.
