What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Hotel Chelsea?
Teruko will only be open for dinner, for five nights a week (Tuesdays - Saturdays).
Candidates must be available for at least 3-4 shifts a week.
Opening is scheduled for 4/29. There will be a mandatory training period for two weeks prior to opening.
Please have open availability. This is an exciting, big opening for the hotel and we are looking for committed staff members!

About This Role:
A host is responsible for providing warm hospitality to guests, assisting the Maitre D' or whomever is running the door with providing impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Having a good grasp of celebrity and VIP identities
- Greeting guests in a professional and appropriately familiar manner
- Taking walk-in reservations, figuring out the best way to seat guests
- Maintaining a waitlist when necessary
- Smoothly seating guests to their assigned table
- Assisting guests with and checking in coats, large belongings, etc
- Having thick skin for potentially troublesome guests
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 1 year's experience at the host stand in a high-volume restaurant
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- A strong working knowledge of various reservations software
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business permits
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
