The role of Restaurant Support Staff is to support the team during Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, & Dinner shifts. Clearing tables, bussing & pre-bussing, maintaining a clean environment, keeping up with high volume in a fast paced restaurant, being flexible to the flow of -customers, among others. As support staff you would only be scheduled one of three jobs on a shift (Server Assistant, In-Room Dining, Food Runner) and would be cross trained for all three positions:
Job Duties:
- Deliver exceptional service consistently
- Follow service guidelines and steps of procedures
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
In-Room-Dining
- Take phone calls and online orders from in house guests in a timely manner
- Accurate delivery for all orders and amenities
- Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
- Delivering tray or table to a guest room
- Check-in with guests to assure satisfaction with each course and beverage
- Removal of tray or table from guest room. Remove Trays or table from hallways
- In-Room-Dining is available to hotel guests from 7:00am - 9/10:00pm on any given day.
- 18 years or older is the legal age in which staff are able to deliver alcoholic beverages
Food Runner
- Ensure a customer is receiving the correct order
- Double check the order before it goes to a customer
- Organize food tickets for the chefs
- Place silverware on a table
- Clean off a table after customers have left
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct customer
- Answer any questions from customers
- Refill customer drinks as needed
Server Assistant:
- Water tables upon arrival
- Be able to have clear and pleasant communication with guests
- Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver
- Ascertain a guest’s satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
- Stock linen, china, silver and glassware for service
- Ensure all silver equipment is in good condition and polished
- Maintain and retrieve all food items from the kitchen and attractively and safely transport them to an outlet
- Work closely and communicate with the kitchen and server associates
- Assist in table side service
- Serve any dishes to guests while explaining the contents and preparation
Experience: Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Environment:
- Standard restaurant, kitchen, banquet, room service setting
Physical Demand:
- Positions
- Continuous standing and walking
- Negotiating wet tile floor and steps
- Fine motor coordination is needed to pour beverages, decorate cocktails and folding napkins
Repetitions
- Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time
- Lifting and carrying 30 lb. tray, crate or box is occasional
- Negotiating varied floor surfaces is continuous
- Carrying over shoulder is occasional
- Hand and elbow movements for polishing glassware, silver, setting up tables, shacking, pouring and mixing drinks
- Pushing Room Service cart continuous
- Lifting and carry hot boxes continuous
- Rolling and/or carry Banquet tables continuous
- Carrying stackable banquet chairs by loading the cart continuous
