Job Description
Provide leadership to ensure an extraordinary Banquet experience for the clients. Work with the Banquet Director and the Chef to develop an outstanding culinary and service program for Banquets. Manage all areas of Banquets alongside the Banquet Director working as part of a management team that is dedicated to hospitality and service. Assist in Training, coaching and counseling employees on hotel knowledge and guest service and encourage personal and professional growth. This position requires the ability to speak clearly and comfortably to a diverse and demanding customer base. There is also a need to be nimble, think quickly and make an operation appear seamless and professional to clients at all times. The ability to present & conduct oneself professionally is required, as well as the ability to work effectively with the client.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees all service staff within the departments & orchestrates all events.
- Is responsible for scheduling within the departments.
- Works directly with client and their staff to ensure every request is met.
- Is responsible for continual recruitment, hiring, training & evaluation of a full time & on-call wait staff.
- Review long term event orders & work with purchasing to ensure proper procurement of specials wines, liquors & linens.
- Maintains, inventories, and coordinates décor, small wares, and equipment.
- Works with Banquet Manager to optimize labor pool and meet budgets costs.
- Ensures all client catering needs are being met.
- Compiles billing & ensures event cost capturing accuracy with timely event invoicing.
- Responds to frequent last minute changes, and effectively and communicates those changes throughout the department.
- Ensures 100% positive customer interaction between service staff and clients.
- Is visible to our corporate clients, with schedule flexing based on the needs of the business.
- Is present for all special, evening, or VIP events.
- Solicits feedback from staff and customers.
- Participates in daily staff meetings and scheduled safety and development trainings.
- Manages the daily operations of a banquet facility.
Job Requirements:
- High energy, detail oriented and computer skills must include Microsoft Office.
- Experience with labor controls and productivity based scheduling.
- Superior wait staff service skills.
- The ability to train others to high standards is critical.

- A minimum of three years catering/private dining operations experience.
- Previously held a banquet leadership role.
- A minimum of 3 years of restaurant and/or banquet service experience.
