Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Saginaw, MI is looking for a Head Housekeeper/Supervisor to join our team.
Overview
The Head Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our establishment. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping staff, ensuring that all areas are cleaned to the highest standards, and implementing effective housekeeping practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housekeeping management, with experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or hospitals.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or General Education Certificate is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Proven experience in housekeeping management within the hospitality industry, preferably in hotels or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques and industrial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with custodial duties and standards for maintaining cleanliness in various settings.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Train, mentor, and manage housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and adherence to established standards.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures for floor care and industrial cleaning tasks.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Address guest inquiries or complaints related to cleanliness promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations within the hotel or facility.
- Efficiently track housekeeping hours to maintain a certain cleaning time per room.
- Ability to multi task with laundry, cleaning rooms and giving a final inspections.
Working Conditions
Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. may occur and with assistance, moving up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
