Hotel Herringbone is seeking a detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This position offers up to 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours depending on occupancy and willingness to be cross-trained in other areas. **Department:** Housekeeping **Reports To:** Director of Rooms **Summary:** The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of our guest rooms and public areas. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently while adhering to hotel cleanliness standards. **Responsibilities:** * **Guest Room Cleaning:** * Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds with fresh linens, dusting all surfaces, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, emptying trash, replacing towels and amenities, cleaning mirrors and windows, and restocking amenities. * Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in designated areas (Breezeway of 2nd Floor including landing area, Breezeway of 3rd Floor, 3rd-Floor Hallway, 4th-Floor Hallway). * Report maintenance issues to the Director of Rooms. * Ensure guest room items are properly placed and organized. * **Public Area Cleaning:** * Maintain the cleanliness and order of public areas, including hallways, restrooms, stairwells, and elevators. * **Laundry Duties (when needed):** * Strip dirty linens from guest rooms and transport them to the laundry area. * Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and towels. * Restock clean linens in housekeeping carts and storage areas. * **Guest Service:** * Provide courteous service to guests. * Respond to guest requests. * Maintain a professional appearance. * **Safety and Security:** * Adhere to hotel safety and security procedures. * Report suspicious activity or safety hazards. * Handle cleaning chemicals safely. * **Other Duties:** * Assist with cleaning projects as assigned. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Inform the Director of Rooms of any low stock items or potential shortages. * Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** * Previous housekeeping experience is helpful but not required. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Attention to detail. * Ability to follow instructions. * Good time management skills. * **Must have reliable transportation.** * **Must be available to work hours between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm.** * Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. * Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, walking up stairs and carrying. **Physical Demands and Working Conditions:** * Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, waking up stairs, and reaching. * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * Ability to push and pull carts and equipment. * Exposure to cleaning chemicals. * May be required to work in confined spaces. * Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
