Position Overview
The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing a high level of food and beverage service to guests in a full-service hotel restaurant. This position plays a key role in creating a warm and welcoming dining experience by delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and timely service in line with hotel brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items and specials, and offer recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system promptly.
Service Delivery:
- Deliver food and drinks to tables efficiently and with attention to presentation and accuracy.
- Check back with guests throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
- Clear tables, reset them for new guests, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
Coordination & Teamwork:
- Communicate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with hosts, bussers, and other team members to provide seamless service.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of dining room, including side work and closing duties.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.
- Ensure proper handling of guest payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Comply with hotel brand standards and local health department regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous server experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food, wine, and cocktail offerings (or willingness to learn).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to carry trays, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- May be exposed to varying temperatures in kitchen and dining areas.
