Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Hotel Chief Engineer - Facility Manager to oversee and maintain our property's physical infrastructure, equipment, and overall functionality. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a passion for maintaining high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of all hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, at Hotel Indigo and Fairfax Lofts.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity of hotel assets and systems.
- Supervise and lead the engineering/maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with hotel management to prioritize and address property maintenance needs.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently.
- Manage vendor contracts for outsourced services, including negotiation and performance monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records for equipment, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Participate in budget planning and cost control for facilities and maintenance expenses.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a facilities manager, chief engineer, or in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA and other safety regulations.
