Banquet Bartender Job Description
SUMMARY: The Banquet Bartender serves a variety of beverages to banquet event guests in a friendly, upbeat, and timely manner.
REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager, Supervisor, and/or Banquet Captain
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar, requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the function sheet.
- Reads and understands Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.
- Responsible for stocking, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale including those served by other servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
- Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area.
- Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
- After function, remove inventory and all beverage equipment to proper storage.
- Retrieve and store bar glassware to proper storage.
- Arrive at scheduled start time dressed neatly, in uniform, and ready to work.
- Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Banquet Captain or management.
- Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
- Work effectively and efficiently with the banquet team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers and management.
- Other duties as assigned, such as assisting security with disorderly guests.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes.
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language to communicate with guests and take orders.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior bartending experience required.
- All Bartenders must successfully complete T.I.P.S. or ServSafe Alcohol training.
- Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to push, pull, or transport up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

- Wage Range: $25-$40 per hour
