- Guest Reception and Check-In/Check-Out: Greeting guests upon arrival, handling their check-in process by verifying reservations, assigning rooms, and providing key cards. During checkout, they settle bills, manage payment, and ensure guests leave with a positive impression.
- Reservation Management: Coordinating bookings made online, over the phone, or in person, and confirming details with guests. They may also upsell room features or recommend special packages.
- Customer Service and Concierge Services: Offering concierge services like providing local information, recommending restaurants, arranging transportation, and assisting with travel plans. Handling guest complaints and requests, from room upgrades to late checkout.
- Communication: Coordinating with other departments (like housekeeping, maintenance, and food services) to fulfill guest requests and ensure room readiness, cleanliness, and any special requirements.
- Administrative Tasks: Managing the daily tasks of the front office, including processing payments, balancing accounts, maintaining guest records, and handling correspondence.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing issues as they arise, such as room discrepancies or reservation conflicts, in a way that satisfies guests and maintains the hotel's reputation.
