The team behind the Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans is actively seeking candidates for the position of full-time Maintenance Worker. This is a set shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm.

Hotel Peter & Paul is a 71-room hotel in a former Catholic school, rectory, church and convent nestled in the residential Marigny neighborhood, just downriver from the French Quarter. About you :
Maintenance is the air traffic controller of the hotel’s varied technical components, ensuring all aspects of hotel maintenance are in perfect working order. You are a pro-active, organized, tidy and resourceful individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. You recognize how integral engineering is to the guest experience and take great pride in ensuring all hotel operations are implemented in ways that seamlessly inform impeccable service. You see the big and small at the same time. You’re organized and efficient, with strong people skill and a knack for creative problem-solving. Sense of humor a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure that all areas of guest rooms and public spaces are in good working order
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, coordinating with external vendors when appropriate
- Maintain emergency procedure best practices and respond swiftly and effectively to building emergencies, including hurricanes
- Monitor and maintain proper logs of all measurable equipment
- Monitor supplies and inventory, making purchases (according to budget) as needed, and keep storage stocked and organized
- Handle special projects and other job duties as assigned
- Anticipate guest needs and embody the spirit of service that exceeds a specific role; going above and beyond for all guests and visitors of the hotel

- Is confident in utilizing and learning new technologies, including Microsoft Excel for scheduling and budget
- Enjoys and thrives in an environment where service, creativity, optimism and design are the cues for outstanding guest experiences
- Is capable of lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds on occasion, as well as standing, walking, and working on foot for extended periods of time.
- Has exceptional communication skills. There is no such thing as over-communicating.
- Has previous hotel experience
