Bartender/Server

Job Summary
The Dame Bar is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender/ Server to join our dynamic team. The Dame is a new upscale bar located in the South of Beale Neighborhood in Downtown Memphis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and customer service, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for possessing full knowledge of the beverage list, preparing and serving beverages, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. In addition, the bar will serve as a hub for hotel guests so you will be required to handle simple hotel functions and customer service tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and offering recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
• Monitor inventory levels of liquor, mixers, and supplies; assist in ordering as needed.
• Handle cash register transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Assist with hotel operations as needed and directed
• Assist with event execution as needed and directed
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food orders when necessary.
• Assist in training new staff members on bar procedures and customer service standards.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
• Experience in sales techniques to promote menu items effectively.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
• Familiarity with Lightspeed POS and basic accounting skills.
• Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple orders during busy periods.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or nightclub setting is preferred.
• Basic brewing knowledge is a plus for those interested in craft beverages.
• Wine knowledge is plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $5.00 - $14.30 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
