Concierge
Hotel San Luis Obispo is seeking a highly motivated and service-minded individual to join Front Office Team in a part-time Concierge role. This position has the opportunity to shape guest experiences by providing exceptional knowledge and services to our guests. Concierge reports to the Director of Guests Services/or Shift Supervisor.
The Concierge responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with Hotel SLO’s policies.

Job Specific
- Greet every guest promptly with a smile and maintain eye contact
- Familiar with all hotel facilities, room types, food and beverage outlets, recreational activities, and emergency procedures
- Familiar with local dining, shopping, wineries, and entertainment offerings
- Answers guest questions about the hotel and local area, researching and providing prompt and professional follow-up information
- Serves each guest on a one-to-one basis with utmost courtesy
- Makes dining, tour, travel, and other arrangements for hotel guests
- Assists guests with transportation needs
- Inspects and maintains overall cleanliness and appearance of the Concierge desk, and lobby area
- Constantly displays outstanding communication and guest relations skills
- Demonstrates a professional attitude in all interactions with guests, hotel staff, and vendors – both in face to face discussions and over the telephone
- Answers telephone in accordance with Hotel San Luis Obispo’s standards
- Provides tours of the hotel, displaying extensive familiarity with its history and interior décor
- Maintains inventory of local maps, brochures, and restaurant menus
- Develops and maintains resources and contacts to ensure that hotel guests receive up to date information on a broad variety of activities and events
- Understand all aspects of the Front Office in the hotel’s Property Management System
- Understand all aspects of the Spa, available treatments offered and Sol Spa’s reservation system
- Possess knowledge of all hotel services, facilities, outlet operating hours and amenities
- Understand all fire/safety procedures and provide necessary assistance to guests and employees in the event of an emergency
- Participate in scheduled departmental meetings and all other relevant meetings as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Core Competencies
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
- Candidate must have authorization to work in the United States
