VALET ATTENDANT JOB DESCRIPTION

The Valet Attendant is responsible for driving, parking, and retrieving guest vehicles to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience upon their arrival and departure. The Valet Attendant is also responsible for transporting guests to and from the hotel to the San Luis Obispo Airport, while delivering exceptional customer service and offering a welcoming, memorable experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests to the hotel and offer professional valet services
  • Transport guests to and from the local airport utilizing the company vehicle
  • Accommodate guests by opening doors and assisting with luggage or other heavy items
  • Direct traffic in the parking area as needed and assist guests in entering and leaving the parking lot and hotel
  • Answer guests' questions regarding directions, local parking, local attractions, hotel amenities and other available services
  • Collect and accurately label keys belonging to guests to ensure their proper return
  • Park guests' vehicles in the hotel garage and in the hotel driveway following all traffic laws
  • Operate vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Assist with the company’s vehicle maintenance, specifically vacuuming, gassing and delivering the vehicle to the designated car wash
  • Organize and file paperwork regarding guests' vehicles and daily transactions
  • Ensure front drive, parking garage and all valet areas are presentable and functioning. Keep the driveway areas clear of any unauthorized vehicular parking, staging or abandonment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.
  • Must possess a valid California Drivers License and be a proven safe driver with a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Flexible to work weekdays and weekends and some holidays.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, run, use hands to grasp objects; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; speak and listen. The employee must be able to work in various weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, wind, rain, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to push and pull 75 pounds occasionally. Requires full range of motion. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
