Hotel Valencia Riverwalk is located in downtown San Antonio, TX and is a pillar of the community. Our hotel is unique to the city and we are looking for outstanding talent to provide exceptional customer service to our guests. We are part of Valencia Hotel Group, our collection of hotels are created for today’s passionate traveler, each of our hotels are intentionally built to showcase modern design and classic character. Job summary:

Providing warm and sincere customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction is met, delivering the best guest experience. Assisting with a variety of duties during the overnight shift to include parking and/or retrieving guest vehicles, providing luggage assistance, and assisting with guest requests/inquiries.

Shift requirements:

  • Graveyard shifts from 11pm-7am

Responsibilities

  • Contribute positively to the team within the hotel
  • May need to assist with emergency concerns/issues that may arise (for example: noise complaints)
  • Work closely with the overnight team and communicate frequently to ensure safety and security of the hotel, guests, and team members.
  • Prepare for any/all guest requests
  • Participate in on-going training
  • Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards as required by scheduling which will vary dependent upon the hotels needs
  • Properly complete department checklists
  • Responsible for following procedures for checking in and out vehicles.
  • Ensure overnight valet charges are posted to capture revenue
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Greet and engage guests whenever possible to ensure quality of service is upheld and recover their confidence in the hotel.
  • Resolve any guest and/or associate issues incurred during the shift in a professional and thorough manner, communicating effectively as appropriate.
  • Unload baggage from vehicles and or taxis
  • Open entrance doors for all guests
  • Answer questions and offer information and assistance
  • Ensure charges and posting are processed to secure revenue prior to a guest’s departure
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
  • Return customer vehicles upon request in a timely fashion
  • Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor and willingness to help
  • Observe safety precautions always
  • Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms and or partial escorts.
  • Assist with transportation and handling of luggage.
  • Offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, directions, and dining options.
  • Explain hotel amenities and features of room, such as operation of radio, television, climate control, and how to place telephone calls.
  • Inspect guest's room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate upon guest escort.
  • Deliver packages, luggage, and other guest belongings.
  • Deliver fax messages, emails, laundry, and runs errands.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Qualifications:

  • Hotel operations or customer service experience preferred
  • Communicates effectively with others
  • Works productively with a team
  • Effective multitasking skills
  • Composure and patience under pressure
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • TABC Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
