PRIMARY SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director of Human Resources plays a significant role in managing and overseeing the human resources department’s activities and staff members. Provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources. Assists in the implementation and administration of the HR policies, procedures and programs: company culture management, employee relations, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment matters in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources.  Incumbent needs to exemplify the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in developing and implementing HR Strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Involves implementation and administration of programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. Participates in the development of HR departmental goals and objectives in support of the organizational strategic goals of the hotels. Collaborates on establishing departmental goals, standards, programs and measures that support the accomplishments of the hotels’ strategic goals. Monitors programs on an ongoing basis. Coordinates the implementation of hotel safety and health programs. Assist with the development and implementation of the performance management system to drive high performance Assists with the on-boarding and in-boarding process  Assists in the development management training/development programs Manage the recruitment and selection process for exempt and nonexempt positions using relevant practices for attracting and hiring. Conducts resume reviews and interviews for senior management positions. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievance, or other issuess. Partners with management to communicate the HR policies, procedures and programs to the employees. Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth Ensure legal compliance with existing governmental and labor reporting requirements. Responsible for preparation of information requested or required for compliance with the law. Responsible for audit of human resources systems to ensure compliance. Maintenance of files and records. Ensure proper recordkeeping and all HR files are maintained, stored and/or purged based on legal/company requirements. Nurtures a positive working environment by maintaining and enhancing employee benefit programs, including compensation, health insurance and retirement plans.   OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Director of Human Resources with long and short-term strategic planning. Compiles required and special reports as requested by hotel executives and/or corporate officers. Communicates with management on behalf of the Director of Human Resources as well as act as a proxy as needed in absence of. Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development. May require working beyond regular work hours and may require representation at functions, conferences, etc. Excellent attendance and presence is required. Performs other duties as assigned. KEY QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Experience): Graduate of an accredited university or college or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration. Ten to fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management preferred, with demonstrated abilities in leadership, planning, budgeting, supervision, and implementation of HR policies and objectives. Prior hotel HR management experience preferred. Ability to supervise employees, knowledge of HR principles and legal requirements, basic knowledge of acceptable budgeting practices, and speaking to groups of people. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with multiple levels of management, employees, vendors, government officials and hotel guests. Excellent professional presentation/comportment and verbal/written communications skills. Positive, mentoring and supportive personality and approach; strong people skills, ability to address internal groups on business-related matters; ability to conceive, execute and oversee various important hotel/HR-related internal and external functions and events. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to maintain confidential records as well as any and all confidential information. Proficient with Microsoft Office, or related software.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily work indoors in an air-conditioned environment. Must be able to travel between hotel and corporate offices. May require travel to other business and community activities away from office location as representative of the organization. May require sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Uses a personal computer and other office machines and equipment and various office supplies and writing instruments to carry out duties. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, minimum 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm.  Holiday and weekend work may be required. Must be flexible with work schedule, pending the need to deliver services outside the normal work shift, as well as potential business travel. Salary : $105,000 - $130,000
